Since his election in 2008, Chip has:

  • Fought for local control of education and education spending
  • Voted to lower income taxes for every Vermonter
  • Fought proposed property tax increases
  • Helped create legislation to support local food and agriculture
  • Voted to expand local business opportunities
  • Voted to reduce state government spending by $250 Million

In the Vermont House, Chip will continue to work for:

  • Job growth through strong local businesses
  • Local control of education and educational spending
  • Responsible state budgets
  • A strong rural voice in the legislature



Chip Conquest is a farmer and carpenter in Wells River, Vermont, where he lives with his wife Dr. Fay Homan and children Nick and Kate.

He has served the community as:
  • School board member for 13 years at Blue Mountain Union
  • Middle school soccer coach
  • President of the Baldwin Memorial Library board
  • Member of the North Bank Study Group
  • Volunteer cook at Groton senior meals
